Google Drive Unlinking & Data Deletion Guide for Cue (Call Notes)

Last Updated: Oct 03, 2026

This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to manage, unlink, and permanently delete data associated with Cue (Call Notes) from your Google Account and Google Drive storage.

Overview

When you enable Cloud Backup in Cue, the app creates encrypted backup files of your call notes and settings in a dedicated, hidden Google Drive folder called the Application Data Folder (appDataFolder).

1. How to Disable Cloud Backup in the App

If you want to stop automatic backups without deleting existing backup files:

  1. Open the Cue app on your device.
  2. Tap the Cloud Backup / Settings icon (or open the Navigation Drawer / Overflow Menu).
  3. Select Backup Settings (Settings tab in the Backup window).
  4. Toggle Automatic Backup to OFF.

2. How to Permanently Delete Backup Data from Google Drive

Because Cue stores backups in a secure hidden application folder (appDataFolder), backup files do not appear in your main Google Drive file list. To permanently delete this hidden data from your Google Drive:

Via Web Browser (Computer or Mobile Browser):

  1. Go to drive.google.com and sign in with the Google Account used for Cue backups.
  2. Click the Gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner and select Settings.
  3. In the left navigation menu, click Manage Apps.
  4. Scroll down the list of connected apps until you find Cue (or Call Notes).
  5. Click Options next to Cue.
  6. Select Delete hidden app data.
  7. Confirm deletion when prompted. All backup files created by Cue will be permanently removed from your Google Drive storage.

3. How to Revoke Cue’s Access to Your Google Account

If you wish to completely disconnect Cue from your Google Account and revoke all granted permissions:

Via Google Account Settings (Web or Phone):

  1. Open your browser and go to myaccount.google.com/permissions (or My Account > Security > Third-party apps with account access).
  2. Locate Cue (or Call Notes) in the list of apps with account access.
  3. Click on Cue.
  4. Click Remove Access (or Delete all connections).
  5. Confirm your choice when prompted. Cue will no longer have permission to access your Google Account or write to your Google Drive.

Via Android Device Settings:

  1. Open Settings on your Android device.
  2. Navigate to Google > Manage your Google Account.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Scroll down to Third-party apps with account access (or Connected apps).
  5. Tap Cue and select Remove Access.

4. How to Delete All Local Data on Your Device

If you also wish to clear all local call notes, tags, and settings stored on your phone:

  1. Open Settings on your Android device.
  2. Go to Apps > See all apps > Cue (or Call Notes).
  3. Tap Storage & cache.
  4. Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data).
  5. Alternatively, uninstalling the app will automatically remove all local database files and keys from your device.
